Second Stop: The Lights Are Bright in Cunnamulla

Next stop in Cunnamulla involves a deep dive into local culture as you and fellow Trail-goers join the community in art and song at the Outback River Lights Festival. Your Light It Up adventure begins with the option to participate in a free lantern building art workshops. Create your own personalised lantern and join the sunset street parade from the banks of the Warrego River to the stage.

Then kick back and enjoy the local hospitality as the evening’s festivities culminates in a light show and concert featuring ARIA Award-winning First Nations singer-songwriter Emma Donovan & The Putbacks and Wergaia and Wemba Wemba musician Alice Skye.

You can choose to arrive a bit early to enjoy the entire Outback River Lights Festival or stay an extra day or two to explore the town before heading back out.

Tent City is available in Cunnamulla for travellers wanting to camp onsite. Tent City includes pre-erected tents and beds which are available for hire. Must be booked via Moshtix.

On the Road with the Barleyshakes Duo

Kicking on in Cunnamulla, The Barleyshakes Duo will join Trail-goers for On the Road once more. Bring your voices, instruments and stories to tell for a play-along on the Outback Trail.
